Horseshoe Canyon Ranch Climbing Trip

The last trip was cold.  This one was wet.  We drove down Thursday night and met Andreas and Abbie.  They had come down Thursday morning to have an extra day so Abbie could look around...good thing they did because that was the last dry climbing there would be until Sunday.  Friday we started out with a warm up on Girth Hitch and then proceeded to tackle some easy new routes.

Girth Hitch (5.7+) | Sofia Says (5.8+) | Yo sista (5.9) | The Danforth Anchor (5.9-) | Tufantastic (5.8+)

Saturday involved either climbing wet routes just after the rain had stopped or playing on super easy stuff after it had started raining again.  I enjoyed placing my cams on the easy trad routes in the rain.  I think I found the first routes for Colin!  The afternoon and evening were spent in the barn playing in the Speliobox.  Except for me...I've learned I'm a bit claustrophobic.  I guess I won't be taking up caving!

Scrambled Eggs (5.8) | Molt (5.9-) - 1 | Class Clown (5.4) - L | Little Miss Giggles (5.5) - L | Playing Hooky (5.8+) - 2

Sunday Andreas and Abbie headed home because she was not feeling well.  Then the starter in his car failed.  Not a good day for them : (  Andy, John, and I fared better with a fairly sunny day and some good routes.  Gracie's 8 was more of a challenge than I remembered...of course it was wet.  Orange Crush was good!  It was tiring at the crux, but I managed to pull through it cleanly...glad I finally got this one under my belt...nice route!  A couple new routes near the Cliffs of Insanity and it was time to head home.

Gracie's 8 (5.8+) | Orange Crush (5.9+) | Sphagnum Esplanade (5.8) | Dirty thieving bastards (5.8)

Notes:
1. Went up 3/4 of the way but didn't finish because the slab was wet.
2. Had to go off route because of the wet slab.
